This afternoon I had the pleasure of restaurant hopping in Arlington with Allie and Sam from Ballston Bid to get ready for Taste of Arlington (If you don’t have your tickets, you should get on that! It’s going to be a pretty fabulous event). I live in the District so I normally tend to stay in the District for food and drinks, but after today, I will be making my way to Arlington more often!
We sat on the patio and ate Flank Steak with Bacon and Asparagus *awe yea…I said Bacon*, a Traditional Pasta Bolognese, Mushroom Risotto, and the most delicious fried Pork Belly I have ever tasted! It’s the perfect place to bring a date or some of your best girlfriends to catch up and enjoy delicious food! Thank you Paul for having us!
HOLY SWEET JESUS! I’m not saying I have a favorite because they all offer different items that are so incredibly good…BUT I am currently obsessed with Empanadas and am ALWAYS obsessed with bacon and fake sushi (I call it fake sushi because it’s non seafood sushi …I don’t eat seafood but love the idea of sushi and wasabi so when I find a place that can deliver on the “fake sushi” end I’m in love) and A Town has it all! Not too mention, there is an awesome bar, and I hear their Sunday Funday is something for the books! (I’ll let you know when I try it). Today’s treats consisted of Empanadas with Argentinean steak and Thai chicken, South of the Border Egg Roll, Chicken Carbonara Flatbread, and the Rib Roll. I’m definitely going back for Sunday Brunch.
We stepped up our game a little and went to one of the nicest restaurants in Arlington, Willow. A gorgeous restaurant with beautiful private rooms to host dinners and a great menu selection. Chef and owner Tracy O’Grady stopped by to say hello and bring us the incredible Steak and Cheese Flatbread. Willow is the perfect place to dress up and treat yourself!
The inside of La Tasca is INCREDIBLE! Multiple floors, a gorgeous staircase in the middle of the restaurant, 2 bars, a beautiful Spanish Vibe! While we were there we tried Shrimp & Bacon wrapped scallops, Bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese, Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, Paella! We didn’t try the Sangria (because I had to be at work a few hours later) BUT I will definitely be back to try the Watermelon Kiwi Sangria!
If you were thinking: At this point they MUST be STUFFED! You are right. And we were. But nothing, not even the uncomfortable feeling of eating too much was going to stop me from trying the Muffaletta Sandwich and the beignets! Some of my best friends growing up were from Louisiana and I remember sleeping over at their houses and eating beignets for breakfast the next morning. They were everything I expected them to be and more! It’s quite possible that you will find me with powdered sugar on my face every Saturday walking down Courthouse Road...oh and don't be surprised if you find me there Thursdays for Ladies Night with Bottles of Wine starting at $16. Chef and Owner David has done an incredible job bringing Louisiana to DC!
